The importance of sleep

Do you know that sleeping is very important to a human kind? Everybody has 24 hours a day and we spend almost one third of a day on bed for sleeping. The seriousness of not having enough sleep could lead to insomnia, some even more serious like sleep apnea or sleep disorders. The worst case scenario is having sleep paralysis due to insufficient sleep or irregular sleeping time.
Since sleeping is so important, do you know that sleeping will help one to live longer? Just look at the impact of not having enough sleep, the problem arise which is related to health such as hypertension, obesity, stroke, heart attack, depression and diabetes. By having enough sleep or good quality of sleep, we can get away from the abovementioned diseases, hence we can live longer and healthier.
I have picked up some of my favorite sleeping facts which found in the internet that you would never think about at all.
1. Parents with new born baby would lost sleep for 450-750 hours in the first year. Go and buy a sleeping mask immediately!
2. A normal human will spend averagely 33% of their life sleeping which is equivalent to 20 to 25 years if we are taking a average life span of 75 years.
3. Human sleep at least 3 hours lesser than other mammals such as monkeys or chimps who sleep for more than 10 hours a day.
4. Through a survey, found that the age group of 18 – 24 years olds youth who are lack of enough sleeping tends to poorer performance as compare with the older adults.
5. Bereavement brings insomnia, but taking sleeping pills will make the things worst.
